When I think back to January first, it seems like forever ago. As if a decade has somehow passed in the course of a single year. To be honest, I have to convince myself it really has been 11 months and not 11 years since I was editing weddings using iPhoto (Gasp!) and photoshop actions I found on the internet for free. That I haven’t aged ten years since I discovered Lightroom, culling, and the advent of VSCO film. My life has changed this past year -and so has my work. It’s grown, evolved, and is finally becoming an extension of who I am instead of something I’m simply trying to be. I’m nowhere near where I want to be – who of us is? – but I’m headed in the right direction. For that, I’m incredibly grateful. I’m grateful to a handful of people – who through their encouragement,...
thankful december | love 146
December is absolutely my favorite time of the year. Don’t get me wrong, I live for fall fashion, and I love a perfect summer day as much as anyone, but there’s something about the weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year’s that make me all fudgy inside. Warm. Gooey. Soft. I’m intoxicated by Christmastime – the soft glow of colored lights and the tinkling of bells. Snow covered trees and warm cocoa. This past year has been filled with new adventures, new friends, and wonderful memories, and I feel blessed beyond words. In honor of my amazing, heart-filling, soul-building year, and my heartfelt gratitude to all who made it so fantastic, I’m giving back. Paying forward. Pledging to do more. With this in mind, I am soooooo thrilled to announce that 20% of every session/wedding/package/etc booked between now and...
let it snow | brynn andre | editorial
This job has provided me with so many opportunities to meet amazing and incredible people – and sometimes, the stars align and I get to work with them. One such individual – whom fortune brought into my life this past summer – is Brynn Andre. She is incredibly talented – both as a makeup artist as well as a singer-songwriter – and when she asked if I’d be up for a little editorial shoot for her winter EP “Let It Snow” I couldn’t say no. Winter had not yet fallen in Minnesconsin at the time of our session – so we made winter come to us, and had an absolute blast in the process. Go pick up Brynn’s EP by clicking here, and check out her awesome review on the City Pages Blog!...
