when athena met sally

I met Sally over the winter. Well, I intermet her, actually. We corresponded exclusively via Facebook until this past Tuesday night when we finally, FINALLY! met in person. We hugged and laughed and talked as if we’ve been friends forever. I joked with her husband (and talked motorbikes!) and make quick friends with her two adorable and darling little girls. We spent an hour living, walking, sharing stories, and laughing at Silverwood Park. I spent an hour shooting – for sixty short minutes I documented a few fleeting moments in their lives. Gwen’s playful eyes, Elsa’s cautious and inquisitive demeanor, Alex’s love for his family – and Sally. Beautiful, mesmerizing, amazing Sally.

I smiled along with the 4 of you in those photos…I felt the genuine happiness that is created when you are all together! And Athena…she captured it…in all it’s simplicity and pureness. Love it. And Sally…I’d KILL for just a little bit of your biceps. And your slim, tall, physique. #swoon

The one of Alex kissing my cheek while I’m looking at the camera brings a tear to my eye, then the one where we are both laughing is total real life for us.
There really is no words for how much these pictures mean to me, I wanted my girls to look back at these 30 years down the road and see exactly how we interacted together, the way their Mom and Dad were and the love we all have for each other and that is exactly what these do.
I can’t thank you enough Athena, from the bottom bottom of my heart THANK YOU!!!
