Darielle and Isaac are the kind of people that you fall helplessly in love with the second you meet them. They are warm and kind, laid back, incredibly funny, and they exude happiness and joy. Their wedding day was an absolute reflection of the love that radiates from within them and lives in everything around them, and I was honored to tell their story. Here is a preview of the first part of their wedding day – Darielle getting ready, her and Isaac’s first look, and some amazing portraits under a bridge in downtown Saint Paul. A few still images of their monumental love. Darielle + Isaac from athena pelton on Vimeo. Music “Bella” by Angus + Julia Stone. Download it here....
jeanine + ryan | eight years later
They’ve been together eight years already. They’ve grown up alongside one another, gone through life changes together, and endured so much. Through it all their love has deepened. Strengthened. Grown exponentially larger and more robust. It filled their wedding day. Encompassed us all and it was magnificent. Jeanine and Ryan are especially kind and giving, and the moment I met them I felt like I was a part of their family. They trusted me wholly, and to a photographer, that really does make all the difference. Jeanine sat down, in a thicket of tall grass and brush (and her dress didn’t have a single speck of dirt on it – because I’m impeccably careful!) and because she trusted me, and my vision, we were able to create some of my favorite bridal portraits ever. As my last wedding of the year, for me this day was bittersweet. I’m so thankful...
Katie + Andy’s Autumn Wedding
This isn’t Katie and Andy’s wedding day. At least not entirely. This isn’t their whole love story – but rather a sampling of the happenings in the lives of two amazing people on a cloudy and cold Saturday in October. These are my favorite things – my favorite moments – from their wedding day. A beautiful old church. A fabulous pair of heels. A group of good friends. A little girl who wouldn’t stop dancing. A game of tag. A giant rock. Sparklers. Food. Two people in love....
Meg+Geoff’s St Paul College Club Wedding
It’s been almost a year since I met Meg. She contacted me last fall to discuss the details of her wedding day – to talk about the day she was planning to marry her best friend, and the best, most wonderful and unexpected thing to happen to her since…well…ever. She wanted to talk about her life with Geoff. I knew the second I saw her that I was going to fall head over heels in friend love with this girl. She just exudes joy and is constantly laughing (even at my horrible jokes!). As she discussed the details of her day, I found myself interrupting to her to practically shout, “PICK ME!” I have no shame (apparently). But Meg did pick me, and on the last Saturday in September I watched as her dream came true at the St Paul College Club. I was so honored to document this day....
