Last weekend I photographed a wedding. In the middle of winter. In Minnesota. When I first met Kate, I was hooked. And when she told me she dreamed of outdoor winter wedding photos, I knew I had to be there to capture her gorgeous Cross Lake wedding. Kate is one of the most beautiful creatures I have seen up close, and the way her face glows when Matt looks at her makes my heart sing. These two-the way they love each other-is exactly why I chase after a photographic life. Taking photos. Telling stories. Sharing the goodness. The love. Their love. I am so honored to have been a part of their beautiful winter wedding, and to call them friends. Here is a preview of their day…. Kate. Matt. Seriously. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. I hope you are having an amazing time in Hawaii. xo a....
Jessica + Matt : Dripping Springs Wedding
I don’t know where to begin — What to say, how to eloquently express the appreciation, gratitude, and love that I have for Jessica and Matt. Their trust, honesty, and faith in me as I began my photography career is a gift that I can never repay. I was so honored to be a part of their rainy, Dripping Springs wedding, and am blessed to call them friends. Jessica and Matt, I hope you enjoy your preview, and I hope you had an amazing time in Jackson. (I had a hard time narrowing down my favorites, so please be advised: this is the longest photo post ever.) Always Love, A...
Judy+Tom’s Schaar’s Bluff Wedding
Eight; the number of children Judy and Tom have between them. The number of crickets their youngest caught (and released) during the course of the day. The number of roses in each bouquet. A gagillion: the amount I adore these two people – and their family. It was such an honor to be able to capture a slice of their wedding day – the merger of two amazing families, of ten unique, brazen personalities. Family is a big deal to Judy and Tom. So much so, that when Judy contacted me about her day, she indicated that she didn’t so much want a wedding photographer, as much as she wanted someone to document her children. On her day. Judy, you astound me. f’Real. And your kids are the exact reflection of the love you and Tom share. For each other. For them. I enjoyed every single moment of your wedding. ...
Wedgaged: Rachel+John
Rachel and John are amazing: Fun. Easygoing. Gorgeous. Hilarious. From Rachel’s fiery red hair and easy smile to John’s fear of bare feet and subsequent affinity for black socks, these two make the most perfect pair. They are getting married in a few short weeks on the beautiful beaches of Jamaica, and asked if I was available to shoot both a traditional engagement session, followed by a wedding-esque shoot, before they elope. I did not hesitate with my affirmative response. In fact, I’m pretty sure it was an emphatic “YES!” followed by thirty exclamation points. Give or take. The sessions took place in the steamy 104 degree afternoon heat at their (brand new) cabin in an itty bitty town about an hour from Austin. We found some dreamy light, and they more than obliged when I screamed and ordered them out of the car! There’s this light! Right there!! Squeeeee!!...
