I’ve been staring at a flashing cursor for more minutes than I can count because the truth is, I have no words. Or at least not the right ones. Aaron and Nicole’s Gale Woods Farm wedding was one of the most fun wedding days since ever. Full of laughter, friendship, lawn games, and ice cold beer. Sure, it was three thousand degrees outside. Sure the venue wasn’t air conditioned. But there was love. An abundance of it in fact. So much love that it spilled over and infected everything. By the end of the day my cheeks hurt from smiling, and despite the sweaty stickiness, I couldn’t help but hug both Aaron and Nicole goodbye more than a couple of times. There may have been some honest-to-goodness squeezing, too. Nicole. Aaron. I adore you, and I absolutely loved shooting your wedding day. I hope you’re having the most amazing adventures...

The Beauty Collective
It starts before we’re old enough to know what’s happening – the seeds of negative self image are sown long before a woman reaches adolescence. They take root and burrow into the core of our being, gnawing away at us every chance they get. But eventually we reach adulthood and are finally able to take a few steps back and see ourselves for what we are. There comes a time in our lives when we finally see more than just the reflection offered in a mirror – we see the skills we have, the knowledge in the lines of our faces, the laughter in our eyes. We remind ourselves of all that we’ve overcome and accomplished, our successes and triumphs. A list grows long with all the things that make us … remarkably, wonderfully, exactly, perfectly…. us. Yet the gnawing is still there; its voice is audible and clear. Despite...
Lindsay + Ben’s Motorcycle Engagement Session
Lindsay is one of my dearest darlingest most wonderful friends, and when she asked me to photograph her wedding I squealed so loud I broke every piece of crystal in the tri-county area. I seriously adore this girl (and her fiancé Ben) and we had such an amazing time roaming around NE Minneapolis last Sunday night. Both Lindsay and Ben ride motorbikes – both vintage Honda Cafe Racers (though Lindsay has herself a badass little scrambler — Vroom vroom!) so it was exactly fitting that they chose to incorporate the bike into their shoot. We also spent some time hanging around Diamond’s Coffee Bar, which is the very place that they first met. I cannot wait for their September wedding! Here are a few (and I mean a lot) of my favorites from our (extremely warm) evening together…....
An Etsy Wedding : An Inspiration Wedding Shoot
I’ve been dreaming about the day I’d get to shoot this – a wedding designed and conceptualized and styled by yours truly. A wedding inspiration shoot that was only possible because of the collaborative efforts of some seriously amazing people. So many talented creatives and professionals came together to make this a success, and my bestie Nadia with A Fine Fete Events helped channel my scattered and ADD ideas (oh, look! something shiny!) into more than I could have possibly imagined. From a custom made wedding gown, to rare pink roses and succulents, to perfectly matched desserts and expertly designed paper goods, a host of Etsy artisans and a few local vendors joined forces and enabled me to create something that completely exceeded my expectations, and over the course of the evening, allowed me to capture so of my most favorite images. Ever. This could not have been even remotely...
