I have toyed with the idea of getting a studio for quite awhile (read: pretty much as long as I’ve been a photographer), but I never really pursued it. I didn’t really have the capital to invest in a studio space by myself, and I wasn’t sure how much I’d actually use it, since, well, I’ve never actually used a studio. So it was serendipitous to say the least when a friend of mine recently posted that she was looking for a studio mate for the last couple months of her lease. I realized that the universe was trying to tell me something so I stopped and listened.
Which means that I recently (read: Monday) picked up the keys to a studio space in St. Paul.
(Insert excited and high-pitched “Squeeeeeee” here.)
The space is beautiful. It’s clean and white and has tall, gorgeous, light pouring in all times of the day (except at night, obviously) windows and is just. simply. perfect. As if that wasn’t awesome enough, I have incredible friends who are willing to drive into Saint Paul at the drop of a hat with their two children (one of whom is still a newborn) and walk a block carrying clothes and blankets and children, and allow me to photograph them so that I can test light and make sure that this space is right for me right now.
Exhibit A:
Kari and her two beautiful daughters, along with my dear friend Amie Jean, were gracious enough to come to the studio on Monday afternoon so I could test light and make images for my mini session flyer, and for that I’m incredibly grateful.
And yes, you read that right! For the first time ever I will be offering Fall Mini Sessions! So if you’ve always wanted me to make images for you, but couldn’t quite fit in a full session, now is your chance! I’m booking mini sessions for families, kids, babies, couples, friends, or your beautiful smiling face all by itself. Sessions will be 20 minutes in length, and you’ll receive at least 25 images (digitally delivered) with print rights. Space is extremely limited (and will fill up fast!), and sessions will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, October 19th.
Please email me for more information and to reserve your space!

OMG! These are beautiful. Especially that one of the Little one jumping. That should be published. Great find on the studio. You’re incredible. I know I say that a lot but it is ever so true!
